Join me this summer in the cool Colorado mountains, August 7-11, 2019!

This SewJourn is designed as a classic retreat experience, set in a gorgeous mountain valley, about 45 minutes from Denver, CO.  Spend an  extended weekend fully immersed in your own sewing / quilting projects, and enjoy a trunk show presentation by our guest artist Valerie White.

We’ll also uncover a few of Denver’s best “CE-approved” specialty spots on our 1-day field trip. Think of it as a 5-day pajama party with like-minded sewing & quilting girlfriends!

We’ll share and enjoy our favorite wines all weekend as we stitch, including a guided tasting to help us pair wines not only with foods, but also with creative projects!   ; )  — lisa

We’ve just returned from one of CE’s best SewJourns ever!! Thanks to our participants and partners for another creative and relaxing experience in the Colorado mountains, just outside of Denver. It was our first Wine Lovers’ Quilt Retreat, and definitely not our last!    Check out these pix…

As you can see, African fabrics were the choice for the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised at how much we each accomplished creatively, wondering how the wine theme might affect productivity.  And apparently, it gave us a boost.  We stayed up latest the evening of our wine tasting, beautifully led by local wine experts Karen and Davis.

Add in perfect weather, comfortable accommodations, a fully stocked kitchen,  our field trip into Denver proper for a visit with Valerie C. White, and the Wa Shonaji quilt guild’s opening reception (blog post to follow) plus a few other surprises, and you can just imagine the fun we had…

Overall, I got very little sleep, running on adrenaline, and it was fabulous, lol!

; )   More pix to follow… And if you’d like to join me next year, mark your calendars now for August 7-11, 2019!! Don’t miss it!!

We’ve morphed this year’s SewJourn Colorado into a treat for quilters who also enjoy wine, in our first Wine Lovers’ Quilt Retreat!  Imagine a 5-day, 4-night pajama party with like-minded friends, in a beautiful mountain retreat house. It’s complete with well-equipped workspaces, a gourmet kitchen and comfortable dormitory-style accommodations!  It’s just secluded enough to focus on your creativity, without being scary-secluded ; )

In addition to spending days and nights immersed in our favorite projects, with a focus on African fabrics, we’ll spend one day in Denver proper, enjoying a trunk show with renowned fiber artist Valerie C. White, attend the WaShonaji quilt guild‘s annual exhibition opening, and enjoy a few other stops along the way.

New this year: We’ve added wine tastings to the itinerary, for an even more relaxed vibe.  We’ll be pairing wines not only with food, but also with various sewin projects, just for fun!  So register today , pack your sewing machine (ask Lisa how – it’s easy!) and a few projects, and immerse yourself in some well-deserved “me-time”.

Well, it took a while but I’m happy to announce two familiar SewJourn destinations, with fun new updates.  The Colorado retreat has morphed into a Wine Lovers’ Quilt Retreat, still taking place at our favorite house in the Colorado mountains (August 8-12), and our Santa Fe SewJourn  (September 19-25) now includes four exciting workshops!  And we’ve kept the  add-on day in Albuquerque, too!  We had to shift the Santa Fe/Albuquerque SewJourn from the original October dates, allowing us to provide an even better experience for you.

If you’re interested in either — or both! — please register soon as the trips tend to sell out faster each year, and why be on a waitlist when you can remove all doubt and commit early??  Click on the links above or the photos below to download the brochures… Treat yourself!              —-     lisa
