Just received a phone call from a newly converted quilter, asking whether our upcoming Summer Stitch-In would be suitable for a beginner.  Well, yes, Jacqueline, the retreat is actually perfect for beginners because you work on your own projects, so there is no pressure to keep pace with others in the class.  We’ll also share tips and I teach short demos so you will learn a lot, and have fun.  Space is still available, and registration ends on June 30 at the $175 price ($195 after June 30 if space is available)

I hope to see Jacqueline, and you, there August 9 – 11, regardless of your skill level.   Check out the DETAILS and register with a friend today!

Thanks to the nine ladies who joined me today for our third Open Studio.  It’s always fun for me since everyone has a different project going…some wait until they arrive and choose Cultured Expressions kits  and supplies to work with, and others come with intentions of working one thing, and leaving with an entirely different project in hand!  Still others are completely focused, coming in on a creative mission…

The big draw of the day was our African Mosaic Quilting, from wall hangings to pillow kits to custom pieced borders for pre-made batik panels, all using 2″ squares of African cotton prints & batiks.  Other participants, including two teens, created duffle bags in batik and mudcloth, too

Registration will open soon for our next Open Studio IV on June 21, 2014!
