I hope everyone is coming thru the Big Freeze safely.  Once you get over tihe initial shock to the body, the cold air is rather invigorating, no? It’s said that tomorrow we’ll begin warming up, so consider joining us for one or two workshops tomorrow 9Saturday, February 2, 2019) here at the Studio:

12Noon – 2:30pm – Make an African Mosaic Zippered Pouch, learning not only the African Mosaic patchwork technique using 2″ squares of prints and batiks, but also my easy method for putting in a zipper!

3:00 – 6:00pm – The String Quilt was wildly popular on instagram and Facebook – now’s your chance to create your own…bing your own bundle of African print strips, or purchase an ABC bundle in class.

Also, if you haven’t yet, remember to enter your photo for our African Accents 20th Anniversary event. We’ve received some great entries so far  – Keep ’em coming!!

It hit me yesterday, standing in the kitchen.  This is 2019…and African Acents: Fabrics and Crafts to Decorate Your Home was published in 1999.  OMG, is it realy 20 years since I wrote my first book? My baby is 20 years old??  It took me several minutes and a glass of Gewurztraminer to process it.  The book that launched the Cultured Expressions brand. Wauw…

Thank you to everyone who bought the book, shared it, gave it as a gift or otherwise helped it to reach a second printing before it was “retired” by the publisher.   Here’s a little challenge to celebrate…

Dig out your copy and email a picture of you holding the book to info@CulturedExpressions.com.  We’ll pull random entries throughout the year to receive a $20 CE gift certificate!

And if you send a pic of a project you made from the book, you’ll be entered into a separate drawing for a $20 certificate PLUS a fabric prize!

The more entries we get, the more winners we’ll pull.  This should be fun… ; )
